The Challenge

"Building Patient - Centric Healthcare"

India's healthcare infrastructure is characterised by a long-standing challenge of a vast demand-supply gap.

The existing infrastructure is facing challenges of scaling up and upgrading to meet requirements.

We aim to explore the intersection of :

1) Healthcare infrastructure

2) Modularity as a principle

3) IT & Connectivity

to propose solutions which can help create availability and accessibility of quality healthcare infrastructure.

Can we leverage existing capabilities and synergies within Godrej businesses?

[Secondary Research]

[Primary Research]

We worked on describing User Personas from the User profiles that we had interviewed. These Personas were made so that we can enhance our understanding of individuals that reflected similar characteristics towards Personal health.

The five characteristic personas that dominated our insights were the curious, the variety balancer, the personalized, the reasonable and the nudgers.

Solutions

Existing health systems offer services as a single-shot cure for your health, making the users more and more dependent on them, this thereby leading to the vast demand-supply gap in the Healthcare infrastructure. The very nature of caring for one’s health, as experts believe, is always going to be work in progress, one can never stop halfway. Even in a user’s life, every individual’s health depends largely on their behavior and priorities.

We proposed:

To create a wellness ecosystem for health inerts*, using appreciation as a model to look after their health responsibly. The model encourages users to inculcate and sustain a behavioural trait for self-care and wellness, which is how, one can achieve their best health at that point of time.

*health inert: Those indifferent towards good health, or with a low health quotient**
**health quotient: ref. health psychology: Cognitive epidemiology is a field of research that examines the associations between intelligence test scores and health. Researchers in the field argue that intelligence measured at an early age is an important predictor of later health and mortality differences.

We are looking forward to bring different users, caregivers’ community and researchers like psychologists and medical professionals to work on health as a platform for collaboration and delivery.

Seven proposals were shared, with the company as the main stakeholder. Overall the proposal emphasized behavioral traits of self-care and wellness, which is largely leveraging the unstructured healthcare industry in India and potentially overlooked by the structured intdustry.

The implementation of the work was taken up in several directions by the company.

User Testing

One of our prototypes was called Burn-to-earn where we rewarded program participants based on a simple algorithm.. This prototype helped to learn about data and important usse cases.

Key Learnings

Through this project, I was exposed to an unbelievable amount of data! The largest so far I had worked with and understood how biases could creep in at multiple levels of interpretation. I was challenged by existing data tools for accurately generating insights.

The research translators available online have speech-detection and language issues.

We used an insight matrix excel-based clustering tool to filter insights that we could focus on based on a ranking system. That was very helpful since we had more than a thousand data points.
